Maybe the most we can do is enough

Maybe the most we can do is gather the golden bread crumbs that fall in our path and see where they lead.

As we walk along, drop seeds into the cold wet dirt for future sprouting and beauty, even if unseen to our eyes.

And sing with love while we do it like Sleeping Beauty in the woods in chorus with the birds and squirrels.

Sing the songs that Disney never aired, songs of longing and hope, of connection and solitude, of darkness and light.

Maybe the most we can do is breathe and Be.

And maybe that’s enough.

Enough to follow the stardust as it falls to the ground from our lips.

Enough to walk regally on our own golden carpet.
